The Whuzoo story . . .

Thanks for taking the time to get acquainted with Whuzoo.

Whuzoo has been, and still is, a continually evolving initiative.   Like most moms, I am keen to see my kids do well and I take an active part in helping them achieve their best.  Wherever possible I encourage them to be independent and self sufficient - and to have some fun along the way.

Learning their second and third language vocabularies was a challenge.  As they advanced through the grades, the volume of words to learn each week increased.  The amount of time calling, testing, marking and re-testing also increased.

There had to be a smarter solution.

I created a basic spreadsheet tool, based on my work experience, which listed the words they were learning and auto-marked their spelling.  Auto-Mom !

Problem solved - mostly.  They were at least independent and could get on with their vocabulary learning in their own time and at their own pace .

Seeing how well they took to it, I soon shared the idea with the language HOD's at de la Salle Holy Cross College Junior School .  They were equally excited about the idea and asked to make this available to their learners.  The spreadsheet concept was re-written as a packaged computer program and - Whuzoo was born !
